BUILT AROUND YOUR BUSINESS

Start with the storefront
that serves the page.

Commerce Cloud implementations can divide routes and content across different storefront systems. I review ownership and representative behaviour before recommending changes. This scope covers B2C Commerce search diagnostics and content priorities; platform development and Salesforce administration are separate responsibilities.

Who this is for
Established retail brands and enterprise ecommerce teams using Salesforce B2C Commerce, including implementations historically described as Demandware.

WHAT THE WORK COVERS

Specialist work.
A connected plan.

A practical scope for Salesforce Commerce Cloud SEO, with recommendations tied to your business goals and the evidence available.

01 / FOCUS

Architecture and route ownership

Confirm the active sites, markets and storefront architecture, including any hybrid arrangement. Map product, category and content routes to their owners. Avoid assuming that guidance for one storefront framework applies unchanged to another.

02 / FOCUS

Catalogue and URL consistency

Review representative product and category content alongside preferred URLs, redirects, canonical output and internal links. Identify inconsistent routes and unclear buying information. Proposed URL changes include affected destinations and developer validation requirements.

03 / FOCUS

Discovery and sitemap coverage

Inspect how the implementation makes public catalogue and content pages discoverable. Review sitemap availability and page destinations rather than assuming a headless frontend inherits every Business Manager behaviour. Flag third-party content or route coverage that needs a separate implementation decision.

04 / FOCUS

Release coordination and checks

Deliver prioritised tickets with evidence and acceptance criteria. Test representative routes after approved releases and review redirect or canonical regressions. Custom cartridges, frontend development, deployments and integration engineering are not included without a separate technical scope.

A CLEAR HANDOVER

Useful outputs.
Clear next steps.

Agree on deliverables, responsibilities and access before the work starts. Recommendations and implementation are separated clearly in your scope.

01 / An architecture and route-ownership baseline

02 / Catalogue and content improvement briefs

03 / A URL, canonical and sitemap issue register

04 / A developer-ready release validation checklist

PLANNING EXAMPLE / NOT A CLIENT CASE STUDY

What a practical starting point could look like.

For a hypothetical retail brand with a hybrid storefront, a category might use one URL format while campaign content uses another system. The plan would identify route ownership and align approved links and redirects before proposing a wider URL change.

MEASURE WHAT MATTERS

Progress needs
the right context.

Review priority catalogue visibility, indexing observations, crawl errors and relevant organic journeys where reporting is available. Annotate releases, stock changes and promotions. Improved route consistency does not guarantee that search engines choose a particular canonical or deliver more sales.

Discuss your goals ↗

BEFORE WE BEGIN

Good questions.
Clear answers.

The right scope starts with a shared understanding of the work and its limits.

Ask a question ↗

Does this cover Demandware SEO?

This page covers the B2C Commerce platform historically known as Demandware. The review uses current implementation terminology and confirms your actual storefront architecture.

Is this Salesforce B2B Commerce consulting?

No. B2C Commerce and other Salesforce commerce products have different architectures. This scope must not be assumed to cover every Salesforce product.

Will you deploy custom code?

Not by default. Recommendations can be supplied to your Salesforce development team. Custom development and deployments require a separate agreement.

Can headless sitemaps need extra setup?

Yes. Sitemap delivery depends on the storefront and routing setup. We inspect your implementation and agree who owns any required changes.
